Help me explain to my boss
I've tried to explain to my boss, but he isn't getting it.

There are blogs out there that contain only the names of merchants and affiliate programs (including ours). I am trying to explain to him how these are set up usually to defraud the companies and screw with the spiders.
    How can I explain better?
He's getting a listing of them in the daily google alerts.
I will also admit that I am not sure how this works either!

Yeah, essentially those spam blogs or splogs are just in existence to push affiliate links or adsense by scraping other peoples content.

They have no value at all to the internet public, and really, it doesn't help your brand at all by being there. In fact, it's brand dilution, in a lot of ways.

Your example doesn't have any commissionable links in it... yet... but rest assured it will soon

    Thanks Kevin.
I am just about to go into a meeting to explain this. I also printed my CJ applications page where I have 32 applications for sites like this.

This sounds exactly like where I'm finding my domains via GoogleAlerts. I look at them and they make no sense and I don't have any idea of what I can do about it. I have contacted Google and they want all the details -which I don't have. I can only give them the URLs. Maybe the place to post the URLs is in the Unethical Affiliate forum? I don't know who's doing it but there's at least a dozen in just the past two months.

If they are in Google alerts they are in Google - obviously. And considered fairly relevant.
