    The ABW Family
Given the amount of time I spend here, I already knew how much I valued ABW. But it wasn't until the summit that I truly knew how much I value so many of the partcipants here.

As I saw this fierce woman wearing a huge "Support NY Affiliates" pin and I got so excited as I guessed it might be Rhea - and it was! Then I met Mellie, Herb, and sfcom. spied Michael Coley and it went on and on! A man got up to make a comment at the PMA session - and yes it was Chuck Hamrick! (Didn't get to say hello - though you did see me - I was the one that asked if PMA was going to be a Chamber type of group)

It was very emotional for me to finally meet Haiko and to be able to thank him personally for my affiliate sanity and so much of the knowledge I've gained on this forum. I still had my "Proud ABW Member" pin on when my husband and I went to the local coffee shop this morning, back to the world where no one understands me.

I googled "affiliate marketing" a few nights ago, and was truly aghast and the quality of the sites that popped up.

This is the best place online to learn AM and to stay safe as we warn each other about bad actors and bad neighborhoods. And inspire and console each other when we're having a bad day.

I'm envious of you, met a few from the Chicago area over the years, and that's about it.
Following everyone else is a GREAT way to become average.

What a great experience! I'm a wee bit envious... not brave enough to take the Summit plunge, hopefully next year.

While a (seemingly) sometimes participant, ABW is a very important part of my routine (the daily sanity check) - everyone is familiar to me now & I even have some personal favs who I always seem to agree with!

It's nice to know your real-life experience has matched the virtual enjoyment of this forum

This was a terrific post, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing that, Aunt Lily. While I wasn't at the Summit, I am very grateful I found ABW. I have learned more here than all the other forums I have been a member of in the past.

There's nothing to be afraid of. There's an amaizing number of ABWers and people who check in at the Summit. Once they knew my ABW name (which was easy because I added it to my badge) it was instant conversation time!

The summit was really a very friendly place - and not at all intimidating. Though a little noisy and crowded at times. But I would suggest going, because you really will get a much clearer view of AM and all the players.

Oh, I would LOVE to meet the people... the issue is the financial commitment to the event. My affiliate biz is just starting to take off, and since I'm self-employed, resources are managed very carefully

I've decided that '09 will be my year, and hopefully will get a chance to meet you!

I did enjoy your post, it reminded me of the importance of personal relationships, even in business.

I'm sorry we missed each other, Aunt Lily. I would have loved to meet you, and still do.

    Maybe in Vegas?

    Oh my Vegas!?!

I had been telling the Hubster how much I wanted to go to Vegas. (I'm really not the Vegas type)

So when we were in New Orleans for a conference of his, he took me to Harrah's. Would you believe I almost passed out after only 30 seconds in the place. My heart started to beat in rhythm to the slot machines, I started hyperventilating, and dizziness overtook me. The really funny thing was, that almost immediately a cassino employee was there with oxygen.

I was fine once I got outside to the "quiet" of New Orleans. You'd think someone who loves Bourbon Street at Mardi Gras could handle a casino!!!!

So glad to hear you all had a good time!

I SO missed being there this time. :-( I WILL be in Vegas, however, so please everyone, make it a "must do" and let's have another ABW party.

Meeting ABWers F2F is the best - same "connection" as online, huh? Gotta love it!
    Peace,

Very nice to meet you Aunt Lily. I'm glad you could make the drive down. Next time you are in Pittsburgh, maybe we can go to lunch.

It was great to meet a few new people and reconnect with others. I got to make a formal "hello" to a few of you as well. The PMA session was valuable and I was happy that those of us on the Working Groups could be there to answer questions - even Mellie's. We had a good talk after the session, too.

Lol Brad. I know I was a bit rough and I do appreciate the responses. I think it was good to clear the air a bit and now we can move forward. I too enjoyed our talk afterwards.
