But was it THAT Michael J. Fox?!?
Someone named Michael J. Fox who resides in California just bought a Siamese cat magnet from one of my CafePress shops.

Do ya think it could have been THAT Michael J. Fox?

    Nah.

You don't get contact info for purchasers from CafePress. Just the state. I think "that" Michael J Fox may live in Canada, not sure though.

He is originally from Canada. Not sure if he lives back there now or not. he does hold dual citizenship in both Canada and the US.

I can't ask him, whoever him might be.

Cafepress provides very little personal information to the shopkeeper about the person who makes a purchase. All I know (and all I ever will know) is that someone named Michael J. Fox, who lives in California, bought a product in one of my shops.

Not too long ago someone named Carole Sager who lives in California bought a golden retriever hoodie from me.

It sure does make me wonder though.

Sure, why not? Decide that it WAS him and you've got a good story to tell.

We sold a digital alarm clock with bed shaker (for hearing impaired) to Richard Petty a while back. I figure driving race cars all his life ruined his hearing.

We've got his phone number here in the database. Perhaps I should give him a call...

I get an abbreviated copy of confirmation emails for every hotel reservation we sell. I look at every email w/ name, where they are from, where they are going (specific hotel) and how long they will stay. I see some "coincidentally" interesting/famous/strange names. I don't get full personal info - just name and city/state of origin. But it's fun to speculate, anyway.

    Rhea,

    Here is an idea!

Just go to the original Michael J. Fox fans website, and make a post there thanking the guy for the purchase of the "Siamese cat magnet".

What's the worse that can happen?

If it's the same guy, you may get a few more orders, if it's not the same guy... Who knows, you may even get some new costumers too.

Btw, just make sure the post don't look like advertisement.

Or... make sure it doesn't violate any of your privacy policy details, since the info is supposed to be private.... posting a name and item purchased may be on the other side of what would be allowed, and you wouldn't want the REAL Michael J. Fox getting all mad at you, that wouldn't be fun.

He might send her "Back To The Future"

    Wait a minute....

    That would be real fun!

Ignore him, Sal, he's no fun.

So now tell me again how this works? Coz I seem to recall something similar in an I Love Lucy episode, only it kind of backfired and the next thing you know Lucy was in jail and Ethel was having hysterics.

Be cool if it was, though I think he lives in Quogue, Southampton, New York. Or maybe he's not moved in yet and needed that Siamese cat magnet before he moved
