Exclamation ARC Offices closed today, Monday 18, 2008
    Hello team,

Due to the incoming tropical storm, Fay we are closing our offices today and will have limited web and phone access. If we don't loose power we are all working from home today.

Fay has been unpredictable and last night we all went to sleep thinking we were in the clear only to awaken this morning to hear it had changed course again and is heading more to South Florida and may become a hurricane by the time it hits us today. They are forecasting anywhere between 8 and 12 inches of water...

ARC is well prepared and we have taken measures during the years to make sure we are up and running when any weather or natural disasters threaten our area.

    Have a great day all,

They were nice girls compared to their male counterpart, Andrew. It was my first but also my last. Never again.

Yeah, we are on the worst side of the storm, the top right quadrant is the worse in any tropical storm situation. The tornado warnings went up this morning and will continue till tuesday night. We are not concerned as much with the wind as with the rain, flooding and the tornado activity. Nothing can prepare you properly for a tornado in south florida.

We are well stocked though, have a generator, plenty of extra fuel and emergency lighting to last us for at least a week. Anyone at the Summit dinner also knows we are well prepared for any looting or civil disturbance in our area ...

Missy, you are in for a soaker girl ... this thing is going straight up the state according to the latest forecast. We are forecasted for 6 - 8 inches of rain over the next 24 - 48 hours, with 60+ mph winds...

Yep, we're prepared. Our hurricane stash is set, the board games that don't require electricity are down from the attic to entertain the kids, the propane tank is full for the grill and the Miller Lite will have plenty of ice.

    Stay safe Andy and gang.

Andy, do you remember I told you about the songs I used to make up when I lived in Florida and a hurricane was about to hit us? Well I wrote one about hurricane Fay for you, Millie and the crew at ARC:

To the tune of "Here Comes Santa Claus,"

    Here comes Hurricane,
    Here comes Hurricane,
    Here comes Hurricane Fay,
And if it hits us, and if it hits us,
    We'll all float away.
    Underneath the attic rafters,
    That is where we'll hide.
We'll just have to hope and pray,
    That it doesn't rain inside!

Good luck guys. I phoned my dad this morning and his shutters are up, food and water are stocked and the car gas tank is full. He's an old pro at this now.

We're all hoping Fay turns out to be fickle and heads toward open water!
