    All,

It has come to my attention that a member has blatantly copied another member's copywritten material, as such that member will now be banned!

What makes this even worse of an offense (if that is possible) is that the member who did the copying was also an Affiliate Manager with a forum here.

Let me repeat this loud and clear, I don't give a who you are, if you copy a members site, in any manner, you will be banned, no ifs or buts about it!

[For privacy policy reasons I can not divulge who the banned copier is, but you will notice that a merchant forum will be removed tonight].

That sucks, just curious if the AM for the merchant is also an affiliate of the same merchant and might have copied one of their more successful affiliates sites?

This case didn't involve me, but I've had something similar this month. An employee of a company connected with an affiliate program copied one of my sites and hosted it on their employer's server! Luckily I have a good relationship with all the companies involved and the site was removed very quickly. Case closed but you can't trust anyone, it's really sad.

Member is now banned, forum and banners ads are also gone.

    No.1,

The copier copied material for another program. The infringed upon affiliate alerted the AM and then they, inturn alerted me, I saw the proof and five minutes later ... GONE!

It's sad that people are willing to share their knowledge and experiences in a place like this and then get taken advantage of. I hope that people will not hold the faults of a few against the many who would be glad to receive some help in this industry. I, for one, am grateful for the information and opportunities that are made available here and hope that this doesn't deter too many people from posting their successes.

Ray I figured out who the merchant was, Of course I'm going to not expose the offending merchant and drop them. You will probably figure it out sooner or later.

I figured it out too. I made copy of the main page before Haiko made the changes and compared the before and after.

Never heard of them and never knew they were even there before this.

No, I am not going to use this forums copy written material. I just used it to compare AND IT WILL NOW BE DELETED.

Instead of "Let's go to the videotape" I went with "Let's go to the Google cache".

I think I figured it out. It really sucks when this kinda stuff happens.

    Question...

If the offender was promoting a different company's affiliate program than the one he worked for, then his employer was probably not informed or in approval of this, right? I'm all for kicking that person out, but what about the merchant who may not have known?

I support booting the individual, but I would hope that one employee of our company performing personal business wouldn't jeopardize our presence here. Has that been considered or am I not understanding what happened?

I'll be contacting the CEO to ask what they want to do.

Yeah I talked to the affiliate manager and they seemed really nice. I'm suprised why they did this? That's called copyright infrigment here.
