I have been trying to find out what exactly a trusted merchant approved means. I have seen the graphic below AF managers post but would like to know what standards their program meets. I e-mailed haiko but haven't got a reply yet. Anyone know???

    Thanks,
    DOug

    Bye!

To me it means they do track sales so you don't waste traffic to non-converting merchants.

It means that if you promote them then you are likely to be treated well and not ripped off. You can also be safe in the knowledge that your commissions will not be stolen by parasites

There are criteria we all had to meet to get the seal. I'm not exactly sure what the criteria were, but I know parasite stance had something to do with it.

Haiko is working on something that will explain the seal, and I'm sure he'll let us all know about it once he's done.

In the meantime, I think you can take the seal to mean that we have credible, fair programs.

I take a very simple approach, perhaps because my program is small, I can get away with this fairly easily. Basically, when I screw up, I make sure everyone else is happy. I have screwed up orders before, so the customer ends up with a free tarp, and the affiliate keeps his/her commission. I go out of my way to track phone orders, I hate parasites and in fact contact other merchants regularly that are, perhaps, not yet aware of the issues.

I do not know what Haiko's prerequisites are, but I just try to be excrutiatingly honest.

It means we operate in a true partnership, when everybody wins, affiliate marketing is trully at it's best performance when we all win.

We treat you as you should be treated, fair, honestly and we try to maximize your revenue, for we understand only then will you continue to promote us.

We give you as many tools that are available to help you market our prodcuts, we help you grow your business and in turn, we understand that you are helping us grow ours.

We know you are all at different levels of affiliate marketing. We also know you are also individuals, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters and face the same daily financial, physical and emotional needs and responsabilities that we do. We understand we are all human.

We are able to relate and walk in your shoes, knowing daily challenges you face, and understanding that, we find ways to make those challenges less of a burden to you.

Most of all, we care. We care that we have made a difference in your life, whether it's a $25.00 commission check, or you knowing you are well on your way to reaching a goal. We take great satisfaction in knowing we were a small part of that success.

We are happy to make a difference....

There are many more, but these are the ones that stand out now in my mind this morning.

    To your success !!

Would be nice to have Haiko put up a page to explain this trust award and link to that page. I'd then use it on my site to alert shoppers this guy/gal can be trusted with a link to ABW's page or the merchants promo page outlining their shopper friendly policies. It also keeps them from being featured in Charlies "Parrot Poop" ezine.

I really like and agree with what Andy said. This seal means more to me than just trust and running an honest program. Running an honest program IMO is just plain common sense and integrity.

For me this seal means that relationships and fairness come before money,
empowering others for success comes before my own programs.
Because in a true partnership if YOU win, we win!

I had a small talk with Haiko about the approval seal. Before approving me, he asked all sort of things about the catalogs.com program such as reversals, tracking, policies, etc. to ensure that I run a fair, parasite-free program that respects the relationship between merchant and affiliate partners.

The Trusted Merchant status award sure helps recruiting efforts and sure seem to seperate the AM's with sales responsibilities rather then just Eyeball gathering routines.

Marifer might have been the one who bought my second pink purse sale in the last 12 months to go with her icon. What you gals do with all these $270.00 discounted hot pink purses is beyond me. Must be some bedroom secret.... Ms.B must get a kick out of this one again.

    OK Trusted Merchants......

I want a simple type link that says soemthing as simple as:

    "In Association With"
    "Your comany"

And has the seal off to the side. Actually the seal isn't necessary but I'd like the new link anyway .

This is a simple way to make your affiliates look "more like partners". Fogdog has a link like this and I really like it. If you're interested in seing what theirs looks like let me know and I'll point you to a page. I love the link myself and wish more of you guys "and gals" had one that was similar.

Child labor laws exist yet, parasite partnering merchants (PP Merchants) and the COC allow an adult affiliates income to be diverted into the pockets of parasites and consider it normal business!

Why give parasites unlimited cookie durations and credit for sales where they divert our users and overwrite our cookies. PP merchants and the COC directly supports what many consider unfair trade practices, identity theft and thievery!

Hey, sounds like a good idea, that link to the AMs and their programs -- the ones who are "Trusted Merchant Approved."

I'm still very new to this whole affiliate marketing thing. I would love to be able to check out you "quality" people and programs as an aid to starting my business.

All will be detailed on www.atrustedmerchant.com very shortly.

    The main criteria include:<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
    1. Parasite Free
    2. Fair and ethical cookie durations
    3. Fair commission rates (based on competitors)
    4. Low or relatively low chargeback rates
    5. Reachable and identifyable AM[/list]

There is no fee to apply, nor to keep the seal, so it is based solely on truth.

    1. He didn't have the seal
    2. I'll make sure to include that the AM isn't allowed to pilfer site content from another affiliate.

    Haiko,

Awesome Huge Logo. The Irvs Luggage URL is wrong. It should be irvs.com
