Took me all of 5 minutes to make a 1200 page site for one of our CJ/ABW merchants thanks to the CJ database and gocollect.pl. Looks great and full of keywords hopefully in time for Christmas.

Also excited because I just bought my very first website domain name back to place it on. Originally costed my about 300 dollars for a two yr reg paid under 10 bucks today.

Ummm...who's the merchant? Say it's us please. What is gocollect.pl?

The Merchant only wins if the Afilliate wins.

Well now I am confused. According to CJ:

Backcountry Store 3496 products - 260551.txt

I swear I read 1200 before. I'll check for myself before I post.

Ha that's to funny I counted the lines in the df and there are 1070 so I have that many plus about 100 cat pages and an index page.

How do we get the rest of those products?

that is weird.
When did you last download the feed?
Mine is about a week old, and again only contains 703 items.

Game on!!!!

Do I understand correctly - you applied gocollect.pl to the other DF and it worked? No mods? If so, great lateral thinking, wish I'd thought of it

Heyder,

Great looking site! However, it looks like the site belongs to BackcountryStore.com, not SportsSavings.com. I have no problem with that, but will BackcountryStore?

Thanks for sharing that information with us. Good luck with the site.

Ron,

The header thing is the part that makes it look just like bcs and that's a creative available through cj.com I think I will be modifying it just because I don't want my visitors getting confused and sending their money to me expecting snowboards to show up in the mail.

Regarding the script I was not the first and the five minutes I referred to was speaking of run time not setup time.

Nope, he's not the first to do it. The problem is that every other data feed site has the same info, so Google doesn't give high rankings to data feed sites. Sales, unfortunately, will be lower than a comparable site.

Tzu I could show you a ton of evidence to disprove that as of right now. The future of datafed sites is limited I agree but for now they rock.

The problem is people like me blabbing about them on public forums where 50 other people will now try their hand at it.

You have to manually change the entire product feed in order to run it. It is a lot of cut & paste. You have to delete all the extras out of it.

I can show you my sales from datafeed and non-datafeed sites, and the non-data sites outperform them by %600. And get better google rankings, too.

Lol, why don't you just learn a little Perl and edit the script to work with CJ's feeds? Now I'm the one blabbling for everyone to hear

To create webpages based on datafeeds from cj.com, I recommend using our upcoming cj.pl script designed specifically for cj.com datafeeds. To be notified when the cj.pl script is available, signup at our website.
