I recently read about a program called Affiliate Link Cloaker, and I think there's another called Affliate Link Defender or something. They seem to be a little bit of hassle to use. Here's my questions if you've used any software to protect your affiliate links from hijacking:

    - Do they work with CJ links?
    - Is there one you really like and if so which one?
    - Did you really see a significant improvement in CTR and sales, or just a little, or none at all?

    thx

Frame your links and you'll be ok!

    Haiko,

You mean like namestick.com does? Is that OK with CJ advertisers (if you know)?

I tried link cloaking but decided against it. The link cloaking programs open the merchants site in a frame, with your url showing in the address bar.

What I don't like is that when a customer is at the checkout they can't see the golden padlock. The page is still secure, but because it is in a frame, no golden padlock.

I always look for this when I'm buying on the web, if there's no golden padlock, I won't buy.

So my worry was that I might be loosing more sales from customers deciding not to proceed with the buying process.

The best option seems to be to support only reliable Merchants. If you don't trust them dump them. Plenty of affiliate programs out there.
