Which type of traffic is the best?
I know that there are a bunch of different types of affiliates. You have your email lists, coupon sites, price comparison sites, directories, etc.

Which of these affiliates do you prefer traffic from?

    and

Which of these affiliates tend to convert the highest?

    Thanks,

    Chris

It depends on the quality of the traffic from each different kind of sites you listed.

All of them can send you good traffic.

Now - whether you can convert the traffic to sales is up to you - the merchant and the quality of your site.

Content and review sites but you have to have brand and market share to get them.

Affiliates that have product details and info at the top of Google (and/or the other leading search engines).

If Affiliates can get organized and useful product information in front of people searching to buy those products, they're laughin'...

    I would suggest another type:

If a Domain gets direct navigation traffic (aka type-in traffic), that converts the best in my experience.
These shoppers have a goal/product in mind when they type, for example: www.baseballgloves .com
You know they are very targeted shoppers and more likely to buy and return.

I agree with Chuck and Gary. If you just have a link or banner ad they tend to be much more skeptical when they come to your site. Ideally they would just come to your site to buy and buy more .

Datafeed-based sites, content ones, coupon affiliates, and what I said here and here about synergies, creative propositions, and adding value.
