What's up with so few new posts?
Usually, when I log in to ABW, there are hundreds of "new posts."

Since yesterday, there are now less than 50. Am I missing something?

Maybe it's summer's last hurrah and everyone is busy with other things.
Our sales have been dismal this week too...

Actually, I think it's something admin did - like only showing "todays" new posts - No clue really but the drop off just started yesterday so I think it's something with the back end.

It's usually slower here on weekends by nature. I'd guess many of the managers (non-opm's) work weekdays only.

That combined with Boomers comment is probably why this weekend is slower than most. Around here it was mid 70's and sunny. We won't have many more days like this.

I think the answer is D: All of the above.

It's a weekend. We're heading into the holidays and everyone is working hard and fast. People are using avenues like Twitter more. And maybe Haiko kicked the tires, too.

I agree about the holidays. We need to finish pending projects and get ready for the holiday shopping season.

That reminds me. It is time to get back to work.

I think everyone is busy researching/setting their fantasy football lineups for Week 1. Combine that with the more realistic assumption that end of summer equals a rush to do things outdoors that you wish you already had, and I think that could account for some of the slowdown.

I'm just busy with several projects - working on new site (almost ready); NY tax issue (yes still!); trying to find a general toy merchant that not only tracks but has merchandise in stock and works with NY affiliates; updating sites; getting kids back to school; starting tutoring; trying to exercise daily.... Also weather yesterday played a part - a lot of rain.

Internet was out, back went out, launching a new merchant so working on the back end getting ready to post post post starting Monday with new incentives for new merchant and Loxly Gallery and Cool Card Shop and creating datafeeds and adding products.....

    **takes a breath**

No not able to post much the past couple days.

Twittering doesn't replace posting here, twitters are short usually more personally oriented updates that wouldn't be appropriate here.

Oh and no I've not done anything to the interface nor admin, but I can go get some Alexa bots and make it look like it's really busy and even inflate thread views, but that wouldn't be ethical now would it. Even posting the thought gives me the heebie jebbies, and a multiple cold chills, but I digress.

OK, for clarification, I was worried about the amount of posts I, personally, was seeing as "new posts." - I haven't been as active as usual either because of all of the above but what was showing on my screen was probably less than half of the new posts that I know *should* have been there. My original question came about because I thought admin maybe started only posting "today's" posts and I was curious.

I take it as a positive that everyone is busy working on their sites and not here *****ing and moaning about life. LOL Onward to Q4!

Is that on the same level as having the the who's online show people going back as far as hours and hours ago? That way it looks like more people online than there really is, when in reality many left many hours ago.

There is a default time for the who is online listing so if you "time out" instead of logging out it will show a user online even when they aren't because of the time setting. You have a forum Connie, you should know that.

BTW, there is a difference between fake visitors and actual visitors, but I see that's hard for you to understand.

I have mine set up to show the users online in the last 10 minutes. I think a reasonable amount of time is up to an hour. Yes there are default settings but most forum admins customize them.
I do agree with the other things you said in your previous post, and do know there are ways to manipulate things. I don't condone or support any of it and can see right through it. I also know that Alexa rankings mean nothing, they are easily manipulated. When I see people who know this touting their Alexa rankings it makes me go hmmm.
