Anyone run out and buy it or am I the only compulsive one here that needs each new frontpage upgrade?

No, you're not alone, I bought it too.

We generally don't buy the latest FP upgrade until our hosting company accepts the newest version of FP. Therefore, we probably will not get FP 03 for a few months. But we will certainly get the upgrade at some point. Each FP upgrade has made life easier for us.

Are there any other Dreamweaver® users or am I the only one? I thought Frontpage® was natorious for producing unnecissary HTML...

As a webmaster for so many clients I have to use a standard older FP version since so many hosting companies don't have the latest FP server extensions. Besides that excuse .... I'm still a cheapskate and hate donating to $Bill Bill.

    Jup, over here.
Combo Dreamweaver, homesite (great for huge search and replace actions in hundreds of pages) and notepad.

    Dreamweaver and Notepad.

I'm cursing Front Page everytime I have to open it, one of these days I'll get Perry off of it so I'll never have to use Front Page again.

I am supprised many of you frontpage users are still using 98 ...

    Time is money

If your thinking your saving money by not upgrading you might be hurting yourself.

This upgrade has all kinds of neat tools:

xml intergration, check out the demo of where they use the amazon.com xml feed... very cool and would work nicely with a couple of my sites that promote that program

    cleaning up html looks nice

use of custom made templates ...

Should be fun ... I am not installed it yet though. I am finishing up on a huge site to promote myrxforless.com (1200 pages) once that is done I will install and play.

    Cheers,

    "cleaning up html looks nice"

Yes, it is nice that Microsoft has finally learned how to clean up the mess it makes.

It would make more sense to NOT make a mess of the HTML in the first place. Sorry, but that's not progress.

Don't know what xml is much less why it should want intergration.

Mr.Merchant, if you do business in any way what-so-ever with parasites, your products will not be sold on my sites!!

    Brian,

Where's that xml integration demo? I couldn't find it on the MS site. Do you have to install the trial version of FP?

    Thanks,

OMG, I'm with EcomCity, I'm still on 200o FP. I see no need to upgrade. I don't even use the FP extensions. I do some cool stuff with javascript on occasion and I also use other software to make pseudo-datafeeds and to manipulate real datafeeds.

Hey, so many users are on Frontpage, nice! I must be the only one to use Adobe GoLive.

We need to make a decision at work whether to go Dreamweaver or Frontpage. I have used Dreamweaver and think it's good, but kinda slow on my Celeron machine with some fucntions. Since our IT department is all microsoft, would any users care to give feedback / review between FP & Dreamweaver? We need to make a decision at work ASAP.

    Thanks in advance,

I started with Namo when they first came out and have been with them ever since.

Namo makes Dreamweaver & FrontPage look as they did in 96!

Hey frontpage users..... don't you have trouble with the links working with the changes frontpage makes to them. I know in ukaffiliates and linkshare it says the links won't work properly with the & etc

Anyone know what the deal with all that is?

I've been on FrontPage 2003 beta for at least six months. My ISP has been running the extension for awhile as well. Works like a charm. Saving me lot's of time!
