Question Now that we all registered with New York...
Now that both affiliates and merchants have all filed our first tax return with the state of New York; whats next? I am still waiting for the next 49 plus shoes to drop. It sounds like California and my state, WA or on a volunteer basis. But we can only expect that every state will want a piece of the pie and create a bookkeeping nightmare for everyone who sells or lists items for sale via the Internet. Then what about every other country in the world?

IMHO most affiliates and merchants have their heads firmly stuck in the sand on this issue. Too many merchants think the solution is to dump affiliates in the affected states. Too many affiliates think they live in a state that would never vote in legislation of this type.

    The apathy is appalling.
