Question 1 more question... Please help me understand...
On the home page in the corner that says "Program Performance" It used to say New new new. now i have 4 out of 5 green bars and it says 3 month EPC??? $289.00 and 7 day EPC again $75.92
What does that mean? Any break down would be helpful.

Edit: Aren't the green bars bad?

    More green bars = excellent.

Your EPC is pretty high though. Too high and merchants will think you are doing something fishy.

We Irish environmental types think green bars are good. CJ does too.

Thanks so green bars are good and a high epc is bad. what is a epc, and how do you lower that?

Edit: What does EPC Stand for? Also If it has to do with sales, i want my sales to skyrocket. I have very very targeted niche and the customers who visit my site already want the product so i get about a 45% Click to lead conversion. My goal is to get 60% conversion.

CJ defines EPC as Earnings per Hundred Clicks. It's a common measurement of performance that is another way of expressing your conversion rate.

In step with nakedgamer, you don't exactly want to lower your EPC, but, as high as it is right now, merchants will probably question the activity from your account because a $290 EPC is not natural.

I don't think that any merchant would question that. My 3 month EPC is $150, and that's all legitimate search marketing, breaking no rules at all. I used to have an EPC of well over $200 until I started promoting some new products that gave me a lower EPC.

With stats this good, it's hard to believe you would not know the anwers to your questions or, at least, where to find those answers quickly on CJ.

    What are you selling?
Can we take a look at your website?

Exactly my thoughts. When I was starting out with zero green bars, it took me some great deal of sweat to move the bars.

I wonder how a newbie can reach 4 bars while still not understanding what they mean. Must be real good.

Yep, I want as big as EPC as possible. I also think what you're pushing plays a part. If you sort the merchants by EPC there's many in the 100's and they tend to be more credit cards, banking, insurance, loans as well as others. Wall Street Journal a nice 143/253 EPC, Masseys shoes a nice 140/191 and so forth. And some affiliates are just better at converting than others (for many reasons) so they'll probably have a higher EPC than the average.

Though if a advertiser that normally has a low EPC, let's say $3.00, and you have an EPC of $290 then that will definitely be suspect. If your EPC is in line with the overall EPC of the merchant that is a good guideline, but not perfect.

They suspect that the affiliate can actually drive sales? Lots of factors go into that. In this specific case:

"I have very very targeted niche and the customers who visit my site already want the product so i get about a 45% Click to lead conversion. My goal is to get 60% conversion."

Seems more lead type stuff since they said lead and with that kind of conversion. And they're not driving a whole lot of sales hence 4 bars and not 5. So in this case, it's really nothing at all to worry about. I bet the merchant they're dealing with is not a $3 EPC type merchant. And anyway, it's not something you can really control unless you really want to purposely hurt you sales so you can have a lower EPC which = insanity. So for the thread starter, keep doing what you're doing and get that 5 bar.

I have had several instances were a CJ merchant had CJ question me on my EPC because it was too high. After they reviewed the traffic there were no problems, but yes too high of an EPC (or too low) will raise a flag. I know that for a fact.

I do payday loans, prepaid credit cards and investments. My first month was 1457.00 Second month was $340.00 and third month is $1650.00. I did some research at what part of the country is in need of money " I know that is horrible, but if I don't someone else will." Hit hard with advertising. But just because I know where the market is needed doesn't mean I understand CJ terminology and how they come up with the money and what that money stands for.. and yes about 85% of my income comes from leads the other is from sales. I do work closly with the advertisers I promote, I don't promote the loan services that offer $50 per lead, i do the lower ones $10.00 or $18.00. They convert better their approval rate is alot higher than the higher paying ones. Same with auto loans, that pay after loans have been cashed, Those seem to be working well for me. Anywhoo I remember my first month Cj Audited my account all is well. I am honest in my business, I learn things the hard way sometimes but the point is I learn. I don't spam, or do any type of tacky advertising, I just have my little website which is one of the free ones, like I said I have no clue on where or what to do, I spend hours a day looking for new places to advertise.... and so on...I as you may know can type all day long. So thank you for your responses. I really do like them. And if a EPC has to do with sales, if they question me I can answer them. And I will tell them that I hope it will be higher next month.
Today on one of my sites, I had 2472 impressions 309 clicks and 38 leads. min 5.50 a lead. I want everything HIGHER!!!!!! I want my site to be #1 one of these days when I find a reliable SEO or something to help me, I am getting a little bit tired of this, but money motivates!

Edit: Man I can have too much to say sometimes.......
