I'm Walking For Breast Cancer Research...
Inspired by the awesome ability of Team Affiliate Marketers Worldwide, I found a local event ran by the American Cancer Society called "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" and I am so exicted to be participating! We are in the process of recruiting additional team members and raising funds for our walk scheduled for Sunday, October 26th. Our company, Custom Direct, is also sponsoring our team and will match donations received up to $500.00!

Our team goal is whatever people find it in their hearts to contribute. My personal goal is $1000.00.

Additionally, we are seeking sponsors for our team shirts. The shirts will be printed in-house to cut costs and we would love to print your logo on the shirts for a donation of $250.00 or more. Thanks to my new flip, we'll also be providing video of our fun day as well as pictures that I will be posting here.

Please feel free to visit my page and make a donation. Every dollar counts and is greatly appreciated!

    My Update
I wanted to share that I have completed day 5 of training for my walk! This is a big deal for me because I don't often have a lot of time to exercise and I spend much of my time during the day at the computer with the remaining time chasing the kiddies around.

I am up from walking 1 mile on the treadmill in 18 minutes (Try not to laugh! It's a start!) to walking 2 miles in 32 minutes. I am taking it easy and gradually building up to the 5 mile mark so I don't strain anything.

I am also only $87.50 away from reaching my $1000.00 fundraising goal! Thank you to all who have donated. It is greatly appreciated and very motivating for me.

Not tough by any means, just motivated.

I am still in absolute awe of everyone that walked in Seattle. They had to do 60 miles in 3 days!!

    Bravo!! That's a major accomplishment.

Word to the wise, the treadmill incline is a major factor ...

    1) incline of 2 is street level, so you'll have to bump that up if you haven't already - because a mile at incline o isn't really a mile in the real world.

    2) I strained my plantar ligaments and trust em you definately don't wan that, stretching is crucial - do more before and after the work out, don't skimp dedicate the time.

    3) mix up the training with a random incline program with a touch slower (so you don't hurt yourself) speed - you'll be able to build stamina and speed by mixing it up but be sure to do #2 or you'll be off your feet for months.

Congrats on reaching the goal - and for doing this! WTG!

Great advice, Haiko! Thank you for sharing. I definitely need to check the incline setting.

    Hi Kim,

Great to see you doing this and preparing the right way (slowly). Sorry I missed you at the Boston Summit. I've added a little something to your total.

    Good luck,

    Ken

After walking 60 miles a few weeks ago with the Affiliate Marketers Give Back team, I am more than happy to donate money for breast cancer.

That walk was one of the hardest things I have ever done both physically and mentally. It was definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, because I don't ever want to do it again!

The moral of the story is I would rather donate money now rather than walk! HA!

    Good luck Kim!

    Thank you so much, Debby.

This walk is only 3-5 miles in length, but I am still training for it because I usually don't exercise. I can't imagine the training you must have gone through to prepare for the walk.

    Thanks again!

    Thank You!
Today was the walk! It was 4 miles and it was amazing.

A great BIG thank you to Haiko and Michelle, Jessica Lee of Kowabunga!, my wonderful husband and beautiful children, Bill, Debby, Kim, and Ken. I am overwhelmed by your giving nature and big hearts and I carried you all with me today.

Please feel free to check out the pictures I posted to my Facebook page. They are too large to be posted here and I am too tired to mess with them.

    Thanks again everyone!

What a wonderful day you must have had. Congratulations on completing your goal. Nancy and I are glad to have been a small part of your day. Yesterday's fine autumn weather must have been a welcome gift to all.
