September 12th, 2008, 04:54 PM #1Target - Links and Leaks
I received the Target BYOL "Training Manual" (all 4 paragraphs) about 10 days ago but didn't look at it until today. They could have very easily just directly emailed this to their affiliates rather than handling it they way they did.
End of that story (It was discussed here).
So, I go to the BYOL section at GAN and open up Target to test build one of their product links. This is really the first time I've investigated Target products for link purposes since they left LS early last year. I would have to believe those of you who have continued to promote Target have seen this, but this looks like a MAJOR leak that I have not seen commented on here. For most Target products, right under the "Add to Cart" link , there is a similar link stating "Find it at a Target Store" that gives the potential customer the choice of not buying the product on line, but being given the address of the closest Target store to bypass the affiliate and buy the product at a Target store.
Does anyone promoting Target see this as a problem?
I realize everyone knows Target stores are everywhere, but being force-fed the info of "Go to 1313 1st Street and buy it there" is a different situation.

don't think that shows when you make links thru popshops

"find it at a Target store" is definitely not nice for us.
I think someone in the forum said a while back that they promoted only the stuff Target didn't have in their stores.
