Got an e-mail from a domain registrar yesterday notifying that "Domain registries VeriSign, Afilias and Public Interest Registry (PIR) have notified all ICANN certified registrars that their prices will be increasing on October 1, 2008". The newsletter said that that this "will likely result in the average price of new domain registrations moving above $10 and beyond".

Just a heads up for those that may be thinking of purchasing new domains. It should better be done before 1 Oct. Now most registrars with aggressive marketing you can get a .com at $6.95.
