    Cheating
I got royally scrubbed by a Linkshare merchant for a sale of $15,237. Not a typo. The commision on that one was more than $1,000.
It was on the non commisionable list with the mention "(4) Return Days Exceeded".
This merchant has a 365 days cookie so I don't think there is a big chance for that to happen.
So I create a transaction inquiry log and after 10 days they responded: "Denied : Order Credited to Another Channel".
    Yup, that's it...

Is there an affiliate manager you can reach out to personally? That is horrendous, and the amount is so much that certainly you deserve an explanation. Yikes.

I am so disgusted that I won't even talk to her, we knew each other pretty well on IM.

I can't even understand people who act that way. That really is sickening. How can she possibly think she can do business like that. I really don't get it. I'm sorry that happened to you. On the other hand, congrats on that major sale. I hope your other work is going as well!

Not the way to be thinking. With so much at stake, put the disgust aside and contact her. A rational conversation might work wonders. Even if it goes nowhere, you will know for sure that the merchant or the affiliate manager is a devious snake in the grass and you should then name the merchant here.

I'm not as experienced as you are but . . .
THAT BITES!!! What I am about to say does NOT help you but. . . Don't situations eventually ruin the manager and / or network that would do that to people? I have been hired to be in just that position and I can't imagine doing that to someone for a couple reasons. First I could never treat people in that fashion, secondly, I would be so afraid that I would get the reputation as the guy that cheats his affiliates, that no one would partner with me. Once again, I'm sorry that happend. I hope there is some way you are able to rectify the situation.

You need to put on a professional hat & get some answers.

Why was another affiliate given the credit..? Was there some sort of tracking issue? And why was the status changed after you launched the transation inquiry? It's inconsistent.

These are the answers you need - being disgusted is a knee-jerk reaction, but not the right business attitude.

    Go get 'em!

I just escalated the issue, I wait for further info.
I won't publish the name of the merchant yet.

Also, don't go in with your guns blazing. Keep a level head and ask questions in a reasonable manner...

If you don't feel you are getting a straight answer go over her head. Merchants' ears prick-up when they get a call from an affiliate which is rare. Also, LinkShare has some skin in the game because they stand to lose money too!

How could it be credited to another channel if it reported attributable to your Affiliate ID, even if the return days were exceeded?

Can someone explain to me how non-commissionable sales work?
For this month I have 1,647 orders in the non-commissionable report and that doesn't seem right to me.
The reason that's by all of them is (4) Return Days Exceeded

Non-commissionable sales are sales from customers who clicked on your affiliate link but purchased after the cookie expired. Not all merchants report non-commissionable sales. I have about 6 or 8 Linkshare merchants and only one of them reports non-commissionable sales.

Unless you have a lot of merchants with short cookie lengths, 1,647 seems very high especially for September. How does that compare to your commissionable sales during the same period?

I'm only getting sales from one merchant now
    commissionable : 1,197
    non-commissionable : 1,647

Just sent an e-mail asking them how long their cookies last

I only use the old interface. Click on the Your Account tab. Then select the merchant from the dropdown menu. Then click on the Program Level. On the next screen on the left side, it shows Return Days. That's the cookie duration.

    >> a sale of $15,237

Is the true reason "not a valid transaction" ?

    Edited I put 43 instead of 23

I had some close to that sum from the same merchant in the past. No error there.
    Still no answer BTW.
