    All,

    As part of the new ABW 4.0 I've decided to build in some goodies and extra tidbits of info, what would you like to see there?

    Also how big would you like the avatar to be?

    I've been working on a template that would look something like ...

    http://abestweb.com/newlook/ (it's a static demo with cut and paste components, basically set up to test look and load time with many images)

    I like the new look!

    A bit much on the blue for the avatar side.

    Well being the type of guy I am, tall, dark, handsome and suave I think most ladies here at ABW would like a full page picture of me rather than a small avatar. Who needs forums and threads when you can look at me?

    I prefer the size of the present avatars really but I think if we will be able to upload a real pic of ourselves then the new size would probably be better.

    I like the look and colors Haiko it is very pleasing to the eyes

    You really should have a word with Andy and Guffy...this multiple postings is going a little bit too far

    Looks good. I'd say for the avatars, make them a max of 65x65 in size. That seems to be the avg size on all the boards I visit.

    I like the color scheme too. Could your hide useless buttons though? No reason to have a profile button up there for me, when all I'll get is an error message. Unless of course this is going to change also? I have no problem with the current avatar size. Maybe you could vary the avatar size according to the members rank? Motivate us newbs. I can see Gordon posting like mad to get his full Monty up there!

    IMO avatars should be at least 50x50 and color scheme is really nice.

    I like the new look and love having the "check posts since last visit" back in play. Keep the avitar image sizes the sale or we'll all be getting mug shots of that vain Gordo changing ever few days. I'm hoping ABW will vote to retire the Webmaster Mike Duck avitar, when I reach 8000 posts, so as not to confuse folks as to the real postings of Mike and Charlie.

    Looks good Haiko.

    If there is an option of uploading your own jpg / gif, then a bigger avatar might be better. Otherwise, the size we have now is good enough. Also helps keep the file sizes small to help with page loading time.

    Damm, just took a first look....

    Looks good, but did you have to use my mug shot ?

    I think we should alll have avatars that are our pictures, it's nice to put a face to a name...

    1 - colors and design are great
    2 - avatar 32x32 looks good because you have less info under member name currently
    3 - avatar 64x64 is good for the amount of info you now have under name like, the buttons for, Profile, Search, Send PM, Buddy.
    4 - try smaller avatar, maybe 48x48

    No.1,

    Yep, sweet dedicated machine set up also, should be faster than lightnin, no more of this infopoop crapola

    ==============================

    Buddha,

    All the buttons will work, it's just a mock up.

    ==============================
    Mike,

    We can retire the duck.

    ==============================

    Andy,

    I agree, it is nice to put a face to a name, I'm working on an upload hack that will allow users to upload their images as their avatar.

    =============================

    Jorge,

    Hi and Welcome to the family!

    I agree a 100% the 64X64 would be the best size for uploaded but we'll still use the 32X32 like in the Guffy post example, it still looks good.

    ============================

    Buddha,

    LOL, Sounds like we gotta shave or get a haircut to post

    ============================

    No one has asked me what the $ represents (just an idea) nor told me what information they may want in that area.

    I seen that green dollar and figured you were going to run the ABW recruiter program there .. never gave it a second thought.

    Now to think of suggestions.
