    Pumpkin Eaters!
Does anyone have any advice on how to keep the squirrels and other country critters from eating the pumpkins I have displayed on my front porch?
Can I spray them with soapy water or something?

    LOL Sheri!!!!

I have never put out pumpkins before, so I haven't had the problem. Something did eat my pumpkin vines and my tomatoes I had growing in a pot on the back deck!

I only put them out last week, and already the really small pumpkins have disappeared, and the large pumpkins have gnaw marks on them.
    Cheeky squirrels?

Pet stores carry a solution called "Bitter Apple" that you can spray on things to keep your pet from chewing on them. Don't know if that would work with squirrels or raccoons but you could give it a try.

You gonna eat those pumpkin seeds?

Very simple recipe: clean them, dry them, toss them in a plastic bag with a little olive oil, spread on cookie sheet, sprinkle salt on them, bake until they're golden brown. (I don't remove the shells.) Oh, and drink a root beer while eating them.

And that's a perfect example of why I will never get my own TV cooking show!
