Question Canadian Thanksgiving - How Popular Is It?
I've noticed that it is celebrated roughly a month and a half* before the U.S. one, and am wondering whether it is as popular a holiday in Canada as the Thanksgiving Day is in the U.S.A. I do know that it has different roots. But is it as popular in Canada? And do Canada-targeting affiliates see an increased demand for anything in particular (that can be tied to the Canadian Thanksgiving) this time of the year?

Geno the only thing that sells for Thanksgiving is Turkey. It is nothing like what happens in the USA

It's a very popular holiday for Canadians, but it's more of a gathering time for friends and families and is not considered a "kick-off" to the holiday shopping season like it seems to be in the U.S.... probably because of the timing.

I'm in Canada and I'd definitely agree with PaulS and kse. I love Thanksgiving, but it's all about food and family. Other than that people aren't interested in buying anything. Halloween is definitely bigger than Thanksgiving.

    Hi Geno,

I am also based in Canada and retailers don't comercialize Thanksgiving as they do in USA. They are more into Halloween these days.

    Cheers,
