    Vegetarian Caviar?
Get this, I was just browsing through one of our new merchant's sites (Great Food, a 1800Flowers company), and I noticed vegetarian caviar. It's actually made out of seaweed.

    I'm flabbergasted.

Wow... looks like really a cool product. Like Masago. I'm a big fan of Japanese food so I would probably love it.

Caviar made of seaweed...... is just not right.

I'm Russian, and a huge fan of caviar - I know what I'm saying.

We just have to have one of MAAMA's get-togethers at a local (DC or Baltimore) Russian restaurant now.

If they add a little flavoring, I can see how it could be a knockoff. I think it makes sense too! The "eggs" they harvest for caviar would have become living / breathing fish, but no, the capitalists end these little fishies lives before they have a chance, and why? PROFIT, it's a sad statement on humanity indeed. That is why I founded PETE (People for the Ethical Treatment of fish Eggs

I've seen vegetarian Pâté as well and I'm quite sure I get the point of that either. And I am a vegetarian.

Looks a little gross... I don't know that I would be such a big "real" caviar fan either, though. But the platter as a whole looks very colorful and pretty! Food art :-)
