Server Move With Wordpress - Same Domain, Different IP
I was reading the info about migrating a site that is WP based and started to wonder if anyone here has any suggestions that they'd like to share also. Thanks.

What specifically are you planning doing? Keeping the same domain when you move? Changing domains? Changing to a subdomain?

Same domain and WP-based site, different hosting company. I think that it should be relatively easy, but was just wanting to hear what could possibly be problematic in the process.

That should be pretty easy. I can't think of anything huge that might go wrong. You might consider setting up wordpress over at the hosting company on a different test domain first just to get familiar with the database set up procedures, etc.

I don't think it will be difficult. I moved our blog to a new host and new domain and it went much easier than I thought. I backed up the database files and used them to setup the new database. I think I had to search the SQL files and replace the domain name. Then just changed my SQL login code, uploaded the files and that was about it.

Hopefully, I'll be OK then. As with anything that you have never tried before, the anticipation is often worse than the actual event. Thanks guys.
