    Worst dog groomer ever
I boarded Ernie with our regular kennel on a recent trip back home. They've always done a GREAT job with boarding - as soon as we pull up the dogs go crazy. Once I open the car door they HAUL back to their regular kennel and can't wait to run and play. They just love the place!

Anywho, I decided to give their groomer a shot at grooming Ernie. He's a bouvier. Bouviers are supposed to look like this:

After 10 minutes of very detailed instruction, I left, confident that the groomer could handle it. The pics posted below are the result.

He looked SO ridiculous that rather than immediately starting to yell at the groomer, I had to take pause, sit down and laugh it out as his cute little stumpy tail wagged with the kind of unconditional love that sees beyond a terrible haircut or the bad choices of your owner.

At least animals aren't as self-conscious as people are about such things. He still looks friendly even with a unfortunate hair-do though.

What an indignity. That cat looks so disgusted. When I worked at the vet clinic you'd be surprised how many people brought their Persian long haired cats in to get them totally shaved.

My sister keeps her bouvier trimmed that way on purpose. That way we can take her along when we ride our horses in the brush and weeds.

If she had a normal haircut she'd have 5 pounds of weeds and stickers attached when we finished riding.

I don't have to trim my lab, she's naturally trimmed that way.

Awww. I was lookinf at the dog in the background whose look seemed to say "you aren't going to do that to me are you?". The good news is it already starting to grow back. Hoe Ernie wasn't to traumatized by it all.

Donna that bouv looks great...face fur is trimmed down, too. Ernie looks stupid because he still has the full bouv face.

Thanks for the comments and the funny cat pic, all!!!

Bob, same kennel but they can't come within 100 feet of my dog with clippers.

Speaking of dogs did you get Timberwolf organics in yet?

Just a curious observation between Joseph's and Missdonna, Bouviers.

While her dog got trimmed that way on purpose, and the poor Ernie just had a bad hair cut day, at least Ernie didn't get mad enough to damage the lawn like her dog did.

The grass is greener, at Ernie's playground!

lol, Mr Sal, the photo in Joe's post certainly isn't in his yard! He lives in the desert. That photo was an example of how Ernie was *supposed* to look

Talk about poor Ernie bad luck week!

You just outed where Ernie lives, now you have ruined his chances of getting a doggy date on dogmatch.com

Hey Lox...I'll have you know that my yard has precisely 12 square feet of grass in it!!!!

Correct though...that was not Ernie himself but rather a champion bouv that I pulled from a site.

Ernie's not much of a player, Sal. He prefers dog bones, walks at the house and scratches behind the ears. And he can't type much without thumbs so his online dating efforts have resulted in nil.

    Joe,

Poor Ernie! The little dude never knew what hit him! Thankfully he doesn't know the difference, but for the next couple months, you may want to keep him at home and away from the "club" life. The girl dogs would laugh at him and he doesn't need that kind of rejection right now!

He'll get better though, so don't fret it J.L.

LOL thanks for sharing! It made me think of the time when I recently tried to take Spotty to the dog grommer. They told me he was a liability bc he was too old! Apparently, any dog after 12 y-o is a liability!

Poor dog, he's probably going to be missing his fur if you live in a cold area.
