Does Commission Junction take payoffs to allow deactivated merchants to continue to get traffic? I noticed some merchants who have been deactivated, even recently, are still getting my visitors. The traffic from my sites is not being redirected to the CJ default page, while some are. Making Money at Home is one of them. Recently deactivated, visitors can still go to their site from mine, I noticed. They do go to the default CJ page. why? this was true for some of the gift services sites that were deactivated earlier.

Does CJ take extra money for allowing this to take place?

I seriously doubt if that is true, Chuck. Most deactivated merchants already owe CJ money, which is why they are deactivated.

    Great point Tzu

Chuck I have to believe it must be a timing issue. Maybe it takes a day or so before they start redirecting away from the merchants page.

ps my rule of thumb is if they deactivate I deactivate them permanently.

I do the same thing, unless I've done well with them. Most of the merchants that are deactivated are borderline anyway. Getting deactivated just helps convince me to dump them.

More often than not, they always seem to get deactivated again at some point and never come back.

Whatever happened to the goal of CJ letting us put up our own "deactivated merchant" page? That was a good idea and I thought we had some momentum on it...

    just wondering.
