Unhappy Germs Go Global >> not a happy story
"The 1918-1919 flu killed 50 million to 100 million people. The Black Death killed 25 million people, and AIDS has killed 25 million or more.

"There are lots of reasons to think more will be coming."

What's the matter, Adam? The state of the economy isn't depressing or alarming enough for you?

    Talking
From here on out its just going to be crisis of the day:
    weather
    terrorism
    energy
    economy
    disease
    global warming
    etc.

Or just turn off the news and "don't worry, be happy"

According to several predictions, including interpretations of the Mayan calendar, the world will end on December 21, 2012, so the threat of a plague is a mute point.

Part of the 2012 mystique stems from the stars. On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years. This means that "whatever energy typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will indeed be disrupted on 12/21/12 at 11:11 p.m. Universal Time,"

I will be hiding inside with locked doors when that happens.

    Other things to consider:

    1. The Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012.

    2. Record amounts of solar radiation are being recorded. This has caused global warming on several planets in the solar system, not just on Earth. Some scientist predict it will peak in 2012, which is the next solar max. This could be related to your alignment issue.

    3. The earth's magnetic field has been diminishing for about 150 years and some scientists are predicting a reversal of the magnetic poles, which some say happens about every 60 million years. It has been 60 million years since the last reversal. If the magnetic field collapses in the process, we all get fried by radiation.

    4. The Yellowstone supervolcano is getting ready to blow. That would wipe out most life in North America and change the climate globally. Lock your doors for that one.

If you want to worry about things, there are plenty of things to worry about.

Every day that you are still breathing is a good day.
