October 25th, 2008, 12:46 AM #1Linkshare now has Product Search
Product LinkFinder is only available through the new interface. After logging in, click on Links, then Product LinkFinder. There is the ability to do basic searches by keyword and category. There is advanced search with exact phrase, and other choices. The searches seem to be for either all joined advertisers or a specific joined advertiser. After finding the product, there is a Get Link button.
I happened to be on the phone today with a Linkshare Rep and they told me about it. It was added during last nights maintenance.

This could be good, but I'm guessing there will be problems.
I just tested it, and in searching for "cheese grater" this is one of the 19 results that came up:
"Girls Gone Wild Platinum Edition - 6 Pack Attack (DVD)"
Also, I would like the option of searching non-joined merchants, so I can try to locate new merchants that may have what I'm looking for.
Note - this search box has also been added to the Get Links > Individual Product section for joined merchant.
All in all, it is a major improvement for LS.

Thanks too Cathy
Searched for purple and got some odd results, too lol but maybe it's better for more specific type searches. Sounds pretty good if it does work so will definitely look at it more.

is this similar to webservices.cj.com which provides access to alla -participating- merchants feeds?
if yes...is it free? cause i dont understand why on the other side of atlantic all networks strive to provide feeds to ALL their affiliates whereas on the other side networks like linkshare make it hard all the time for the "low end"/non willing to pay affiliates

CathyM, thanks for posting this. Hadn't heard about it from my LinkShare rep but will now see if we can get all of our links to work for it.

I have tried it out and like it. This addition will make me use the new interface more.
