Like it or not Mods, I'm gettin Political on this one!!
For any moderator who does not like it, tough twinkies. For much too long, I've seen this coming and have been a soft spoken gentleman about it. But today it has just gone too far. So if you want to kill another "thread gone political" Coley, (or any other power wielding moderator) go ahead!!!! I am going to speak my piece and nothing / nobody is going to stop me! If any of you left wing energy consumption types don't like what I have to say, you can kiss my Semper Fi buttocks...

I'm tired of being energy dependent on foreign countries!

    WHY??????

My local convenience store raised the cost of a can of Red Bull this morning by 10 cents!!! That's it - I've had it. These Austrians and their oh so smug little socialist European buddies think that because Americans consume so much of their energy drink that they can now raise the price and we will sit back and take it? Well, they have missed their mark with this ol Marine!!!

Beginning right now, I am making the move to become energy (drink) independent by 2010. We have the technology to develop clean energy (drinks) and it's time we did something about it. No more gridlock. No more "change we can believe in" talk. I am immediately cutting my RB consumption by 50% which I'm sure will open their beady little Schwarzenegger eyes!! Then, I am petitioning congress to force all American producing energy drink manufacturers to make a Red Bull taste-alike energy drink by the end of 2009, with in store sales to begin no later than January 1, 2010.

To fund this effort, I will tax the middle class, which we'll define as households that make $15,000 + annually, as well as the fat cats who buy Red Bull by the case, or in Coley's case, buy bulk knockoff RB syrup to dispense through his bar mounted tap at home!

I urge all of you, be you RB drinkers or not, to join in this effort to stop sending our energy dollars abroad and become a self contained "wired" country, free of the bonds of energy (drink) dependence!

p.s. how many of you bit on that title line? Gotcha!!! hehe

No problem Julian, Sweden was a good guess.

Haiko, light heartedness / humor should not be mistaken for insult. No harm intended. Just having fun with the 10 cent increase on RB at my local convenience store this morning and kidding around with the gang. If any mod took it as an insult, I apologize, it is not intended as anything other than a laugh.

Alan, I suggest you try an energy drink hybrid... like RB and vodka.

LOL I thought I was moody, red bull? LOL I am not laughing at you, just laughing at the point here, how red bull is political. I thought it gave you wings not horns? Isn't that drink like bad for you. If you want to get angry didn't you notice the price of cheese increased? I am just kidding, may you get good sleep, and may you detox off of red bull magically in your sleep. Um this my humor, don't take offense. I like your post it made me giggle.

Is it safe to drink Red Bull with Prozac?

Don't knock the knock-off's until you've tried them. I kind of enjoy having 18 gallons of energy drink on tap at home.

Alan... Sheesh! All your talk about RB over this past year, I thought you were a Root Beer lover. Now that the truth is out, so many things have suddenly become clear...

    And Coley!

I've never imbibed, but realizing that a couple of the particularly intelligent sounding posters here are addicts, I believe I must up the game...

Ok Alan, I have a solution that I just stumbled upon tonight:

It's foreign - so you can brag to your friends about it

It's red - so your body does not go into shock when you convert to it

It's less than 4 cents an ounce and not near expiration (12/09)

Red Devil - Imported from Holland (at least that's what the can claims)

The only thing is you'll also have to pay for me to ship it to you if you don't have it at your own local Big Lots. (Or, if you are afraid of your friends seeing you in a Big Lots) But, you'll still be ahead of the game. I am buzzing on the high of this bad boy right now and it's gonna last for days...WOOOHOOO! Let me know if interested.
