I do it myself and people pay us on elance as a provider. Coding has always been my primary career.

I've used elance and guru in the past and recently switched over to ODesk. I really like their system better that the other two and make things really easy to do. I would definitely suggest trying them out.

I've tried quite a few of them. The best is eLance. oDesk is very good too, and another one I quite like is not there, which is getafreelancer.

If you haven't used a service like this before you will have to pretty soon. Otherwise your sites run the risk of looking dated and becoming irrelevant.

Knowing what fellow ABW'ers use is very helpful.

I once use eLance for two very small projects (abou t$50 each) a long time ago. Now I have figured out how to do that "stuff" myself.

I've used ScriptLance several times, for very limited, specific projects. I've also used Craigslist. One concern I always have is that I want to communicate in meaningful ways with a programmer before I hire them (to determine whether they seem competent and able to communicate effectively), and many of the systems make this difficult.
