This isn't corporate suicide, it's a corporate policy. They don't want merchant ads on sites that are deemed too political or adult in nature... to me it looks like a professional request to clarify affiliate links on certain pages.

Only that when I wrote earlier to commission junction about this issue, the man there said that it's a singular decision between the Affiliate and the Publisher. Meaning that, of course, the Affiliate decides if it doesn't want it's ad on a certain site. I have 11 blogs and a website, they are all huge, but if any Affiliate didn't want their ads on any of them I would have kindly erased them quite quickly. Seems more intelligent than carting out those old guidelines, that no one reads anyway.

This did happen in fact with my source over at the CBS Store, Mary is her name, and she told me straight out that she didn't want any ads on my 'niche' blogs, as she called it, and it was no problem... I'm still a valued member at CBS Store and have a Page on googads for them.

It's hard to really follow that string of emails to see where things are you and where they're CJ but from an advertiser POV, there's certain things, like extreme politics for example, that some brands just don't want to be associated with. I don't think it's outside of their boundaries to ask that you just not use their ads on those pages.

No, your paranoid responses to a simple request from CJ to remove links doesn't make any sense to me...

Well no Joshua, it's not that simple. The Adverts are extremely deep, and often, within the posts even. These are not simple 'link' google ads but very creative Advertisements done creatively and excitingly. I love advertising, as we all do, and this is my work.

If an Affiliate requested such, I would hunt everyone down from where they didn't want it and erase them quite quickly, but this blanket demand is every Affiliate of mine without any Affiliate being consulted.

    Draconian to say the least.

First, your arrogant threats against CJ will undoubtedly get you nowhere and will probably not achieve the desired result.

Second, you agreed to abide by THEIR terms of service when you registered. They have a right to boot you according to the terms of your contract.

And third (unrelated to the question at hand), you've copied and post copyrighted material belonging to CJ as stated in their emails. They have cause to pursue legal remedy if desired.

Some people think that rules don't apply to them. Violating CJ TOS. Violating ABW TOS. Posting copyrighted material.

Guidelines and rules are meant to be read and even some person/s chooses to ignore them please to not assume that "everyone" ignores them. If you are not pleased with a particular rule you can always dialogue with the company that sets them. If you are unhappy with the result then you can always choose to go your own way.

Do you have a lawyer confirming that? If you don't have a lawyer consulting you on this I'd suggest that you can't claim any victory by law until someone confirms that. It's a sticky situation and you wouldn't want to jeopardize your entire affiliate business with this.
