NEW YORK -- Circuit City Stores on Monday said it filed for protection from its creditors under Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy code. The Richmond, Va. company said it negotiated a commitment for $1.1 billion in debtor financing. "(The) company intends to build on recent efforts to streamline the company and create a stronger, more competitive business," Circuit City said. The company disclosed $3.4 billion in assets and $2.32 in liabilities. The move comes a week after the electronics retailer set plans to close a fifth of its stores.I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die

Moderator Note: I've moved this to the Google Affiliate Network forum, since Circuit City is a Google Affiliate Network merchant.
Google Affiliate Network Moderator: Could you save all of us some time and let us know which of the 18 companies listed on the Proof of Claim form owes us money and which months (if any) will be subject to the bankruptcy? (I think it's probably 9/08 and the part of 10/08 up through the filing.)

My experience as a consumer (I never did their affiliate program) shopping at Circuit City was exactly the opposite. The few times I went there, there were plenty of helpful people around to help me find whatever I couldn't find on my own, but not so pushy. (Unlike Best Buy where I've NEVER been able to track down and stop a service rep long enough to get ANY help.)
Odd, isn't it, how experiences can vary so much from store to store and consumer to consumer?Generate more fake news.

I for one can not rejoice in a store or a chain going under especially if the cause was the economy tanking rather than some major flaw that they refused to fix. Like Writerguy my experiences with Circuity City were mostly positive. Good selection, fair prices, personnel that were for the most part knowledgeable and helpful.Buzzy Multimedia Publishing Affiliate Program--SAS Sign-Up
