November 28th, 2008, 01:57 AM #1Unable to change avatar?
I wanted to update my avatar to an xmas one and keep getting errors:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromjpeg() in /home/httpd/vhosts/abestweb.com/subdomains/forum/httpdocs/includes/functions_upload.php on line 273
Issue with the vbulletin installation? I have tried JPG and PNG and GIF. Yes, trying to upload a custom one.

i saw something similar a while back... mine was a pixle too big, check your size

It should resize automatically. That is built into vbulletin and should be working.

just know that when I shrunk mine down by one pixle it worked.... if it works for you then you know there is a bug

I have uploaded many an avatar to vbulletin forums including this one, and it has been able to resize them for quite some time now.
As such it shouldn't give a root error. If it was too large then it would give an error it's too large. That type of error means there is a problem.

Some of us are waiting patiently for him to be able to fix some forum issues.
Patience is warranted in this situation.Deborah Carney

Yes there is an issue it happened when I made some changes in anticipation of being slashdotted, and I haven't had time to fix it yet.
Email me the avatar and I'll upload it.

But if you're natural born female, even if you're very ugly, I might even forget how fat you're.

I guess if it was important you would have fixed the size, uploaded it, proved the bug and reported it as such.
You got the information 10 minutes after your first question, did you even try?
The bug is minor, there are other things going on that have a much higher priority and higher $$$ impact..

Good grief! You people jump on folks reporting a simple issue (that is also a simple fix). I am not being impatient and the rudeness of the responses certainly hasn't changed around here has it?
A very nice quick response from someone in charge saying "we are working on it" would have done just as well as badgering and demeaning a member. I don't see where I was out-of-line at all. This is vbulletin boxed script for goodness sake.

You still haven't emailed me the avatar

No you shouldn't think twice about reporting an issue, if that is what your trying to do !
A simple email would have prevented any of this, if you were really looking to report an issue.
However, your tone with the "nobody to fix it. Interesting" was nothing but a slap in the face knowing all I was doing with the linkshare / Onecause videos and yes you were called on that slap. There is nothing productive about your attitude, but really do I hope it made YOU feel good.
