Why would an affiliate manager/adnetwork/advertiser want to know, or need to know our user name on this forum? What possible reason? It doesn't make sense. I have noticed this is becoming more prevasive as a practice, and personally, I find it quite disturbing.

I have my ideas, of course...

Knowledge is power, or in this case control tactics. as I have said before, there is a connection. With knowledge of someone, especially on the internet, you then have the ability to cause damage/or destroy; I have observed some very vindictive, and scheming people. whatever has the ability to destroy also has the ability to control you...

Back to the original question - why would they want, or have to know our user name on abw? what real purpose does it serve? I can see an affiliate offering the info in mutual agreement. However, to make it a part of data collection on who is who... mmmm that can be dangerous.

Many managers do this so that they can track the ROI of having a forum on ABW. Networks really shouldn't care what your ABW username is.
