Forum hover code (I think) causing Firefox problems
I'm not sure I even know what's going on here, much less how to describe it or what might be causing it.

When I come to the ABW Forums and hover my cursor over a thread title -- it shows a snippet of the first X number of letters or words from that thread as a popup bubble (for lack of knowing the proper term?) that shows on-screen for a few seconds beside the cursor. Then it goes away. If I hover over another thread title, the bubble shows again with the first few letters or words of that thread.

BUT -- For the last few days, when I do this in Firefox then go to a different website -- IT KEEPS SHOWING THE HOVER SNIPPET FROM THE LAST ABW THREAD HOVERED even though I'm hovering over a title on a totally different website.

Could it have something to do with the tabs in Firefox? Has something changed in the coding in the ABW forums?

It's incredibly annoying to have ABW hover snippets showing over titles on a different forum at a different website.

Anyone else having a problem like this? I've Googled everything I could think of related to this problem and had no luck at all.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

    Gary,
I'm not seeing that problem here. I see the bubble, but I think that is just Firefox doing what It's supposed to with title="". I'm guessing the trouble lies within your PC.

Nothing changed here and that sounds like a ram or processing issue on your comp - clear cache, history and cookies and it should away.

I had to stop using Firefox a few weeks ago because it kept freezing my computer. Something about that 3.0 update did it.

It's sad...I miss it. Opera is okay but I prefer FF.

    Good luck.

3.0 has been updated to correct some bugs, it's 3.0.3 now but any minute may be 3.0.4. I'm seeing the title tags on hover but they don't follow me anywhere.

FYI -- FF is at 3.0.4 already. (I read an IT newsletter article today that there's some sort of new malware aimed at FF, so it may well get a patch soon.)

Sorry I haven't gotten back to this thread earlier today.

I've shutdown and restarted my computer, and all seems to be working well now.

    Just for your information, Gary!

On January, I will be getting my new 32" computer with the latest IE version 9, so let me know if you want my current IE V6, because so far it's still working better than your experiment.

Interesting but the Who Posted? link(s) for threads isn't working either.
