Apparently they want affiliates to send them traffic so they can make money and not pay a commission.

    Shame on them..

    http://about.intuit.com/about_intuit...PicksPays.html

I strongly suggest ALL affiliates drop them immediately, they are no longer a merchant.

Does someone want to rename this thread..?

BIG warning here.. Intuit has launched their own cashback site - while their merchant program is still live on CJ.

All affiliates should be warned, don't send any of your traffic to Intuit.. the worst leak I have ever seen.

That's the point... the merchant shouldn't be trying to get shoppers to install a toolbar.

    Cashback, toolbar...
"At Quicken, we're problem solvers. If we can find a simpler, smarter way to manage a financial task, we take it on. As part of Intuit, the same company that brings you TurboTax and QuickBooks software, we've created an integrated family of award-winning products and services that revolutionize the way people manage their personal and small business finances."

Why do you want to pay affiliates if you can steal directly their commissions? They are expert in finance, no.

In my view this thread should stay in CJ forum.. they are a CJ "merchant"

Might be an idea to create a new thread warning affiliates of Intuit.. tax season is coming up, lots of unsuspecting affiliates..

(oops, see that it was moved back already!)

But, I would not blame 1stAngel, if she thought the samething I was thinking when I first read this thread...

The way that first post is made, it looks like it says "Install the toolbar, it's free!", because that paragraph should be quoted, because any newbie might think it's something free and they may even download that crap.

Google, Yahoo, Microsoft all three have tool bars, very widely used.

Everybody has interest in the affiliate industry.

Google is a PPC ad network + Affiliate Network (GAN) + Google Base which is still free for vendors.

Microsoft is a PPC ad network + An affiliate http://search.live.com/cashback + A merchant in CJ Microsoft Office Live

Yahoo is a PPC ad network + a Merchant in CJ

All three have the tools to turn their tool bars into cash machines. The day that happens, there won't be an affiliate industry so to speak. There will only be these there major affiliates.

    Wow.

The affiliate managers at Intuit in CA have just been notified of this thread. I sure hope they will address this, and soon.

Agree the first post is misleading...looks like an ad asking to install the toolbar.

What a bummer, I can believe Intuit/Quicken is doing this... ridiculous, preposterous maybe even ludicrous!

I was thinking about that just this afternoon. It wouldn't be a leap to see Microsoft lead the way as they've already gone down the cash back path. Likely next year they'll have a modified toolbar to 'help you earn on every purchase'.

Regarding the "download the toolbar, it's free"

Some might see the sarcasm with this and the Linkshare's Onecause toolbar controversy.

Register and see where the cashback toolbar is coming from everyone.

Mr Sal, 1stAngel and I are friends, she knew my tone and that I wan't picking on her for not understanding. My post was to point out that the OP was being sarcastic. Apparently that was misunderstood also.
