More than one affiliate merchant question
    Hi,

We have a website that currently promotes only one merchant that we like that carries the products that we review.

But for the benefit of our visitors, we want to offer them more options to choose from when it comes to online merchants.

I have been searching around the web for information but could not find any.

Does anyone here have any experience of building a site that reviews products and also recommends a number of merchants for visitors to choose from if they want to buy the product?

    That's called a "comparison site"
You have 15,800,000 of them listed in Google

Wow...that's quite a lot...Is it then advisable not to do it like a comparison site? Because our main activity is detailed reviewing so we thought of adding more value to our visitors.

What's your experience with comparison sites?

Also, we want to do more than price comparisons because we really want to provide a more detailed review about the merchants that we show on our website.

Is that a bad thing to do?

It's always harder to stand out in a crowded environment. It doesn't mean it's impossible but you have to know your competition and do better. To provide more detailed review it's also adding more content and it's good to rank higher.
I'm not an expert in comparison sites, I'm sure other affiliates will chime in.

Since you are new I have one piece of advice. Never, ever, become totally focused or dependent on one merchant. Survival depends on having multiple sources and a back up plan already in action. If you only have one source for products, start looking for another and get them onto your sites. Even if you do not want to do comparisons you can and should utilize multiple merchants.
