I'm pretty new to the affiliate marketing and I've created a blog about Mad World for the Nintendo Wii. I've put up adsense but I've been wondering about putting up some links to amazon.com maybe so people could pre-order the game?
Yes/No - has anyone had a good experience with amazon.com vs google adsense?

Yes, you should give it a try, it can be very lucrative if you have significant traffic. Amazon commissions are tiered and video games fall into the "general product category" who's commissions go to 8.5%.
Affiliate links work best when you work them into useful content and think about how you are going to direct people into the purchase funnel. Just putting up Amazon banner's won't do as well.Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!

You can monetize your site with either amazon associates links or adsense, or both. I've found amazon to convert well since it's a well-known and trusted brand, but I've also made money with adsense. Without seeing the page or knowing your visitors, it's hard to say which would be best.
Some sample math:
6% commission - you may be able to get higher depending on volume
$50 game - my estimate
5% conversion rate - my estimate
1% CTR from blog to amazon - my estimate
= $0.0015 revenue per visitor
$0.25 revenue share per click
1% CTR from blog to adsense link
= $0.0025 revenue per visitor
Play with the numbers, you know your visitors better than me so you can create better assumptions. Either way, doesn't look like a huge moneymaker unless there is a lot of traffic.
