    Looking 4 x mass gift that back-ups a computer that is easy (gift 4 dad) please help!!! zip, just a cd burner, external hard drive, what?

    Backing up to a cd burner is a pita. I would suggest a second hd with an operating system installed on it. That way if it were to go down you could opt for the second boot option and still get your files.

    I've been using a Maxtor external USB 2.0 HD with Norton Ghost, and couldn't be happier.

    When upgrading to a new motherboard/160 GB SATA HD, all I had to do was pop in the norton recovery disk, click a couple of buttons, and my entire system was transferred in about 20 minutes
