Question How to tell if Merchant is converting (Linkshare)
Just wondering if their is a way to see if a Merchant is converting on Linkshare. I would like to know the EPC, etc for a merchant for all affiliates, so I can tell that the merchent is generating sales for other affiliates, so I know if they suck for all or just for me!!

With Linkshare conversions are a mystery. You have no information regarding merchant EPC. I saw something regarding your own EPC with the new login but it's not the most interesting data.
With LinkShare you have to trust your own experience.

You can also search the merchant's name here to see if anyone's written about them, positive or negative.

Its simple, ask the affiliate manager. If they can't figure EPC or won't give you the conversion information then don't waste your time. I am speaking at the next summit about the importance of conversion numbers to affiliates. Also ask for the chargeback/returns numbers.

As most of LinkShare programs are using LinkShare employees as Affiliate Managers, good luck to get any meaningful information from them. You can even consider yourself very lucky if they acknowledge your email.
Some of LinkShare programs are professionally managed by OPMs, and you'll get a full support, but it's not the majority.

My point exactly, why would you work with a program that you can't communicate with. Affiliate marketing is all about relationships and any successful affiliate here will tell you that they do best with programs they have strong relationships with.

Bigshots who generate millions of $ in commissions?, like one cause probably have their own hotline to AM's. Most affiliates, being peons... not so much...

If you can find an established merchant who offers NO COUPONS your guaranteed they convert at a high percentage. They need no couponers to increase sales and can therefore afford the real meaningful online incentive... free freight.

"Its simple, ask the affiliate manager" if life was only that simple. If I had to drop my relationships with programs who have no affiliate manager or who pay so called professional affiliate managers to run their programs that do nothing to help affiliates them I would have to drop 75% of my merchants and 75% of my earning as well. So dropping them is not the best solution.

What I was tring to figure out with my questions about EPC was if other affiliates where generating sales. If their tracking is working etc.....

Maybe just search in ABW for the merchantname and see if others have had problems?

These merchants have never been discussed here (Non US Sites), however they should be converting.
