I couldn't find the forum for adsense so I posted here. I was wondering if someone can tell me why adsense ads doesn't show on my homepage allstarkid.com instead what you see is my valueclick backup ads. Adsense shows up fine on other pages of my website. Why not on the homepage? Anyone know? Thanks

    Hey ASK,

I am assuming there isn't enough content? hmm, wait, even without sufficient content it would show something. My suggestion is to add an alternate url using google's tools in your adsense account. An alternate url would point to one of your pages, thsu letting you know if your alternate ad shows up, there probably isn't enough content for google to display adsense.

    This is my guess.

Delete this line in your Google Ad: google_alternate_ad_url = "http://www.allstarkid.com/valueclickads.htm";and it will work fine. Your alternate ad is overriding the google ad.

Why would it be overriding the google ads? Isn't the idea that that alternate ad will be displayed only as an alternate to public service ads?

I'd try putting up a standard Google ad without the alternate just to see if only PSA ads show. If so, content may be the key.

The alt ad wasn't a javascript ad and it was overriding the javascript.

I still don't understand why. Google doesn't require Java script ads or images.See their instructions for alternate ads.

I have an alternate ad which is simply an html file like allstarkid's with a couple of links in it. It works fine with no java script ads. The google javascript simply fills the space with the designated file instead of their content only when that content is PSA.

I'm no expert but the alt ad which he was using was an animated ad and it was overriding the google ad. I tested the page without the automated alt ad and it worked fine.
