quote:
Sales at Internet retailers rose 27 percent last week as snowstorms in the U.S. Northeast forced some malls to close early over the weekend and people stayed home to do their holiday shopping on Web sites including Amazon.com Inc. and EBay Inc.

Sales of gifts and other non-travel items rose to $2.02 billion in the week ended Sunday from $1.59 billion in the comparable period a year earlier, according to ComScore Networks Inc., a Reston, Virginia-based Web research company.

Some Web stores reported unexpected sales increases over the weekend as storms dumped more than a foot of snow in parts of the Northeast, closing stores. Overstock.com Inc., a seller of surplus and other merchandise, said sales didn’t drop off during the weekend as they usually do. Closely held Buy.com Inc. reported Saturday’s sales rose 19 percent from a year-earlier.

"The move from traditional retail to online continues apace," said Darren Chervitz, who helps manage $65 million of assets at Jacob Asset Management, including shares of EBay, the world’s biggest online auction house. "More and more people are Internet savvy." -- detnews.com

So are any of you seeing this kind of increase? Networks vs Indies? 27% you should notice that!

Depends on the time period. December up more than 100% compared to November ('sposed to be, it's Christmas). Up probably 50% week to week ('sposed to be the biggest online shopping week right now, maybe in to early next week).
