The $500 or $2000 contribution is the only contribution they want from you.

Hmmm... a new tv or an Individual PMA Charter membership? Tough choice! Let me get back to you on that...

Now I know for sure they won't be representing most affiliates.

Right, and if they're not representing most affiliates then they're not representing affiliates. Period.

The Church doesn't even ask me for that much money. I imagine only a very small percent of affiliates can afford that.

Yeah, I don't see many affiliates rushing to get out their credit card for that offer. Especially, after the 2 years, its $500 a year.

That's of course assuming that they have a credit card with $500 credit available. :-)

That looks like what it costs for charter membership, I think the general membership, which comes later, would be less but I'm not sure, maybe someone involved can post that info.

But, one of the things I don't like and this was brought up in the big thread, is this is going to keep most small/medium affiliates out of the charter membership and those are the ones that vote in the charter board of directors, set the tone for this organization etc.

    What A Load Of Bull!!!
This is ridiculous I work a midnight shift in a factory ,wife and two kids, while working hard to make affiliate marketing my new career, I don't have the money for this. On top of all that it looks like I'll be getting laid off in another month. So much for helping the ones beneath you succeed.

Since I've started to earn a living doing this, I like to think of myself as an "industry professional"... and PMA won't be seeing a dime of my money.

Really.. what the f** would I pay them for..? Do they even know (or care) who I am, and what I have to say..? Hand over $500 to line pockets & feed egos..? No thanks.

And by the way, reading the old threads, why would I pay for an association where there are more consultants on the board than affiliates..??

All I need is my membership to ABW

    (wee bit cranky today, sorry!)

I was beginning to think I couldn't lose any more respect for some in the industry....

I took one look at those prices and realized I was wrong....

I'll keep my money, thank you....

It is a shame that this organization choose to charge such high fees for membership, effectively proving they are only looking out for the larger affiliates. Even super affiliates I have talked to aren't willing to give a new organization that kind of money. They have to know what they would be getting in return. It's a leap of faith at this point to invest that kind of money in an unknown and most of us aren't "angel investors" that believe *this* organization will be looking out for the majority of *us*.

It's not an affiliate organization so why would I want in? Not even for free would I be interested.

$500 per affiliate just to get in at the "Charter" Level? No thank you!
At a price point like that it seems more like a clique for the "elite" than an organization that welcomes all players in our industry.

This news is unfortunate. Total disregard for the bulk of the affiliates withing our industry and a sneaky way to "financially recoup" expenses by targeting "corporate members".

This potential "corporate" member would rather give my $5,000 to charity ....
