    Talking Wordpress Tutorials
Wordpress is a great product and I have noticed a lot of talk about wordpress and themes on the forums lately. I wanted to share a great tutorial I used to customize the basic wordpress theme into a theme that matched my current website.

The tutorial can be found here:
    http://urbangiraffe.com/themes/guides/

It walks you through the steps and explains the different elements of wordpress and its functions. I had no prior experience with creating a theme but after reading the information I was able to create a theme designed after my current site in 1 week.

Here is also another great list of tutorials that can be used to create a wordpress theme:
    http://designreviver.com/inspiration...dpress-themes/

And for those of you that don't really want to learn, then I would suggest one of my all time favorite themes:

    The Free Version: http://michaelhutagalung.com/arthemia/
    The Premium Version: http://demo.colorlabsproject.com/arthemia/

    Excellent resources, Squerry. Thanks!

On the page you listed for theme tutorials is a link to the be-all-end-all Wordpress theme creation tutorial. It's actually a 3 or 4 part series and I have never seen a more in-depth tutorial. He explains every aspect in great detail.

If you are interested, here are links to the individual posts:
    Part 1
    Part 2
    Part 3a
    Part 3b

Thanks, I'll take a look. I tend to get lost in WordPress.

Thanks Everybody, I don't like my wordpress theme, but had no idea how to tweak it or start our with my own. I am going to study these and create a theme that suits my site.

Wordpress did a great job making it easy to install on your own host. You can find the step by step guide here:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Installin...Minute_Install

I'm not sure what hosting company you are using, but there is a bunch that will install wordpress for you. I use bluehost and they have an install script that will get you set up in no time.

If you don't like blogger you should switch to WP ASAP because I hear a lot of horror stories about people who try to import from blogger to WP and have to redo everything! Blogger is not a import friendly blog site.

I didn't know you can do export of Blogger into WP... can't imagine that. SQL db is completely different and Blogger won't allow access to their db, will they?

    Anyway, WP is the best.

WP has an import function that will log into your Blogger account and retrieve your information. You don't have direct access to the database on Blogger.
