    Commission Junction or LinkShare?
Just was wondering which one is better if you are merchant.
I know some people in the industry (Franca Campanella) and she
recommended one over the other, but what do you think?

Why do you think your choice is limited to Commission Junction and LinkShare?
Depending of your products, your budget, your business strategy, you have other solutions.

CJ, no question about it in my mind. The quality of publishers is better, the interface is better, and you get more information about publishers profiles than you do in Linkshare (except Linkshare show IPs of referring clicks and full referrers, and CJ does not). I've used both.

As Zeus said, definitely consider other options too. ShareASale and Buy.at are good, but not as popular, though the affiliates are still there. If you want to branch out into the CPA world, as well, (depending on your product) that may be a good decision too if managed properly.

Neither. There are networks out there that do not allow "unethical" affiliates into their system. ShareASale, Buy.at, and Avantlink are fine examples. The "parasite" problem has gotten so bad I no longer consider working with any merchants in CJ or LS.

If you want a network like CJ or Linkshare, then try the Google Affiliate Network, they are on a par with Linkshare and CJ.

If you don't mind a smaller network, then try Shareasale, Buy.at or Avantlink

Linkshare and CJ are not your only choices

It's easy for a merchant who goes here to know who the "parasites" are, and not let them in...

I couldn't stand CJ as an AM. They're over-priced, they nickel and dime over basic tools, they're loaded with affiliates looking for a new angle on intercepting sales and every affiliate management task was much, much harder than it needed to be. I wouldn't touch CJ as a merchant.

I've not used Linkshare, but I wouldn't go there either. The affiliate side is bad enough, I shudder to think what they have going on the merchant side...

For me, CJ hand's down! I never used LinkShare, but if you do your reading here, you will come across alot of negative feedback with LS.

Other than that, personally as a merchant with CJ, i have never found them to a problem. I;ve also used SAS as well, but am getting much less from our publishers with them as oppose to the ones in CJ. However, SAS is definitely great in terms of service they provide you, and they actually have more options to provide you than CJ.

    Hope this helps you.

I'll add my vote for ShareASale. They've been great to work with as a merchant. Easy to use interface, low cost for entry, lots of affiliates, and friendly, prompt support when needed.

Since you were asking - Commission Junction or LinkShare?

Between those 2, CJ easily. LS is my least favorite of the major networks, even tho they have some good merchants on the network. It's just a mismanaged network.

I'd highly recommend looking into Sharasale and Avantlink. You are going to get top notch service from either of those 2 networks. But if you are absolutely determined to go with either CJ or linkshare, then CJ.

Since I don't have other choices:
    LinkShare.
CJ has gotten really bad with their affiliate applicants.
And my team at LinkShare is the best!

Linkshare had far worse applicant quality than CJ when I had used them both.

I would also consider using a non parasite network like Avantlink, their tools, interface and technology are also far superior even to the bigger networks. Of course this is from an affiliates perspective...
