About a week ago I bought a domain xxxxxx.com name from a well known domain registar.
I was very happy with this name and went right to work building a site. Worked most of the night and all of the next day building said web site.
Now just waiting for the DNS to resolve so I can boot it up.
Come home tonight and still cannot boot site.
So I call Domain registar to say WTF.
Response : O we are sorry but that name is realy NOT available our system must have gliched
Because I went to all the trouble to call they will refund my money.
    Gee Thanks
    What about my time
It will all work out just changed it from .com to .net but right now I am so mad I could just spit.
    Thanks for letting me rant.
P.S. CJ sales totaly sucked today (JUST AS A ADDED BONUS)

    Question?
When I change my CJ accnt. to .net from .com
Will my links still work and track. Is the URL of the sites .com or .net in the link?
    Thanx

    Hey Bro,

I think it will track just fine on CJ but I don't know if all networks work the same way.

I believe that CJ assigns a PID to each URL so your txns will show up in the reports as comming from the .com name.

Just don't delete the .com in CJ and it should be fine...

When are you coming to WA???

URL of your domain is not part of CJ links.

I have not idea what will happen if you change the site name in CJ. Even if it changes your PID, you can use Frontpage or something similar and do a global search/replace to change the middle part (PID) of the CJ link.

I just tried to change one of spare domains in CJ. Changing from .com to .net did not change the PID. So the links will not change. I guess that you can change to .net without causing any problem to links.

I'll second what KC said. When I moved my first site over to paid hosting, I changed the entire URL in that site's profile and all the links stayed the same.

I did notice a hit in that site's logs soon after from Compliance (not sure what they're calling that department now) though...I think it must have set off some kind of alarm in the system. Maybe some people do a "bait and switch" so they wanted to make sure the change was legit. I had no problems, though, since it was the exact same site only moved to its own URL.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!~Old Christmas Song
