    Newsletter Etiquette
I'm trying to get some more affiliates in my program to be active. I want to send them a newsletter, but I'm not sure what the etiquette is.

For customers on my site, my newsletter is opt-in, but unless I missed it, I don't think that option exists on SAS, does it? Part of me wants to assume that since they signed up to be an affiliate in my program, that they agreed to receive messages from me. But you know what happens when you assume things.

The best that I can come up with is to make the newsletter opt-out. I'll let them know in the newsletter that they can opt out, I'll make a group in SAS with the remaining ones, and just send the following newsletters to them. (I plan on sending the newsletter once a month, so as not to be spammy.)

    Does that seem fair?

Seems fair and logical to me.

The newsletters via SAS are not opt-out-able. If they opt out they are out of your program- or at least that's what all of mine say at the bottom. Please check with SAS because I'm pretty sure you already have a captive audience with your affiliates. If you're talking about a separate newsletter outside the network that's different.

Don't worry about the opt-in / opt-out issue with your newsletter. If an affiliate decides they don't want to receive your newsletter, they'll let you know

lots of fun. especailly when u get lots of bouce backs.

Make sure if u are trying to get the inactive affiliates active, give them a reason like an increase in commissions or my favorite, a bonus on 1st and 2nd sales.

I only got three bouncebacks. Wow. A lot better than I expected.

I offered them an increase in commission. Good to know I'm on the right track.

Thanks again to everyone for the advice.
