What is the Correct Sale Amount on Affiliate Network

I am confused about what the correct sales amount should be with affiliate network.
I have the following code in transaction complete page for my ShareASale affiliate network.
$_customerId = Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->getCustomerId();
$lastOrderId = Mage::getSingleton('checkout/session')->getLastOrderId();
$order = Mage::getSingleton('sales/order'); $order->load($lastOrderId);
$_totalData =$order->getData(); $_sub = $_totalData['subtotal'];
but the subtotal is before discount code. As a result, when discount is applied, I am paying commission on full price of the item even though I gave a 20% discount. Is this the way it works with affiliate network? Or am I suppose to subtract the discount?
The affiliate integration code I got from shareaslae doesn't subtracts discount amount from subtotal, so I am not sure if we are not suppose to. It really doesn’t make sense to pay commission on full price when I gave a huge discount.
Thank in advance!!!!

Traditionally, you would be paying on the net sale before tax and shipping. If you're having issues trying to get the right number populated, please contact your cart provider or our merchant support team at shareasale at shareasale.com. They might be able to assist.best,
