After a great holiday season run starting in November, sales are slowing down. Does the decrease in sales, traffic and click-throughts affect anyone elses mood? This weekend really hurt when online sales and traffic plummented. Sales today are okay and normal but nowhere near where they were during the past month.
    Predictable but still not fun.

Does anyone else get those Post Holiday Sales Blues?

You have got to expect it. Don't let it get you down.

Use it as fuel! Work extra hard to get those numbers back up. It won't work in the short term, but if you can't relax and take time off you might as well get some drive out of it.

Take a little time and enjoy the holidays. IMHO

Yes, but I counter the effect with extra doses of video games. Also helping is the fact that the family will be over in a few days with presents!

I have noticed that the blues effect has diminished through the years, too. After seeing that sales do pick back up after people sober up from New Year's, the blues don't have as much of an effect. The buyers will be back, although not as many as during the Christmas rush there'll be a lot more than during the dip time!

I too have fallen and sales can't seem to get up.

Because of this situiation, I am going to join the Coupon Pirates and sail the internet gathering codes for stores that don't exist. Then spam the search islands with multiple sites, place automatic cookies and live like a king-a.

Try turning your computer off and taking some time for yourself.

Or use it for what it is supposed to be used for and play some games!

I am a Diablo LOD Fiend and can be found on US West account name *dirkg ...

PS. If anyone has some decent stuff to trade on US WEST I have an account on Europe that has so much stuff in it it would make your eyes water. I'll trade the lot for a few top end sets on US WEST

    Come have some fun

The blues effect disappeared as soon as I got up this morning, I mean this afternoon, realizing that if I don't do 4 loads of laundry, I won't have much of anything to pack for tomorrow's trip.

And if I don't get off the computer now, I probably wouldn't even be able to leave tomorrow.

Folks, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May 2004 be an even better year for all of us!

I stood out on my front poarch for 10 minutes just listening to the wind. It was quite relaxing.

These feelings are normal, just know it and accept it. After the highs of the Holiday rush, the lows seem so much lower. Plus, the Holidays are stressful for most people anyway.

Just be thankful for your success, and know that your blues will pass quickly. Enjoy your friends and family, and set new goals for 2004.

    @ Gearshopper -->

There's another thread about possible areas to target after the holidays. I have a couple affiliate-related projects I put off to get our shopping portal opened and can't wait to get them started. Won't be as big a return as straight shopping, but will be interesting.

Think of the sales you made geared around the holiday shopping season and smile. Then, roll up your seleves and pick your next market.

There are tons of merchants with great programs that have nice traffic and sales levels to tapp into year round.

    ;-)

    Good Luck

This is my first Christmas as an full time affiliate. From the Christmas high (highest sales I've ever seen.. ok, so my entire month's sales probably less than what some of you guys make in a day.. still..) .... to the post Christmas low blues (lowest sales ever in months). And it isn't even Christmas yet. What a roller coaster.

I'm too confused to feel high or blue now.

Parasites are thieves. What are you going to do about it?
