    large site or multiple sites.
    Hello,

I am in the planning stages of my affiliate marketing business. I have a few Ideas and alot of questions.

Say I wanted to sell some vitamins, credit card offers, and maybe some sports equipment. Would it be better to build one site and have different areas or to treat each category of offers as separate business entities and get dedicated domains and webspace?

    Thank You

    Al

With a focus (foci?) that divergent, I would opt for the dedicated domains and websites.

I would go for 3 different sites/domains to target your traffic. Build those sites up and offer something unique to your customers that will make them want to come back to your site.

Best to go with niche sites with dedicated domains and websites. It makes SEO much easier and you will know your traffic is more targeted. Good Luck!

one big giant site would be best.....NOT

good meaningful domain names help, so pick a good one for each site

Personally, and this is not based on anything but my own preference, I would try and brand my sites - as divergent as they may be. How about creditcardkoala, equipmentkoala, and vitaminkoala? You could use a similar logo. Your brand could be "theinternetkoala"!

ps they are all available at the time of writing this

looks like a consensus and I agree.

one domain/website for each niche is best!

Maybe have a large site for testing new merchants/markets

Then build niche sites based on your experience

A different site for each, but remember that you can have too many sites which may spread you too thin. If you start three or five sites and one of them seems to have potential while the others are having difficulty, put your efforts into the site that is working. It would be nice to have multiple sites that are working in their own niche markets. Keep searching and looking for the ones that work.

    my 2 cents

it depends on the domain you have.

If the domain is great and you can build a brand with it then 1 large site

If you don't have a great domain that you can't really build a brand with then multiple sites.

You can build a big site for one big niche, but don't build one site for bunch of small niches.
Google like dedicated niche sites, this way you'll get targeted visitors with high CPS ratio.
If user search for vitamins, he doesn't care about credit cards. But he can give a look to any health related products.

Multiple sites will be easier to stay on focus with the offers and any content you put up.

Definitely more sites...what happens when your one site loses its ranking or the domain gets slapped? You want lots of sites and backup plans.

Even if you own one awesome generic dictionary one word domain, that doesn't stop you from building a network of more of them

I suggest picking just one of those topics and build a site around it that can grow naturally without the help of SEO. Maybe find a specific need that can be filled in that niche and build a community around it. There's much more potential in doing one site really well than 5 sites poorly.
