    Question Starting an affiliate network
    Hi everyone,

I have a unique way of offering online vendors/retailers products to interested communities. I have little experience in affiliate networks. From what I have read, the networks make money from subscriptions or fees charged to the merchants or retailers/vendors. Access to the network is free for affiliate. Does anyone know how much the network charges the merchants? Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    $400 to $5000+ to start
20% to 30% of affiliates commission

    Thanks for your input

Is $400 - $5000 charged monthly, annually, a one time payment?

I assume the 20 - 30% commission is per sale

Start up fee is a one time payment + commission deposit
    And commissions are per sale

Keep in mind that different networks charge different amounts. Some are much more affordable than others and don't nickle & dime the merchants to death.

CJ's latest quote to start up was $3,000, plus $3,000 deposit for affiliate commissions. 30% of affiliate commission payout goes to CJ as a fee. There was also a $500 fee minimum , you pay the difference if you donít reach this monthly.

Agree 100% Trisha. Also feel the correlation between affordability and effort put forward on an advertisers behalf is backwards.

A good rule of thumb. If you post here asking questions like this on starting a network, you aren't ready to start a network.

I agree with the last post; starting an affiliate network and you're asking this question? Maybe you meant something else?
