    Affiliate Golfers here?
Does anyone here play golf, whether you are an affiliate, a merchant or from an agency? Even if you are a newbie or have always wanted to play...

I'm a duffer...I measure my game by lost balls. Averaged about 5 lost balls per round last year which was one of my best years ever.

Only get out about once a month unfortunately. Is it spring yet?

Occasionally, but I am a complete duffer. In fact I am thinking of taking an old domain name and making it into a "duffer" blog at CantGolf.com. But I do have an uncle (now deceased) who was a PGA pro a looong time ago. He gave me my first set of clubs nearly 50 years ago.

There are, however, a lot of (more) serious golfers in this industry.

Agreed. I consider it a good hole when I finish with all the equipment I started with!

I don't play much now, but I look forward to playing more this year.

I played in college at Tennessee and played professionally after that. My dad was a golf instructor and I worked with him for a few years too.

I enjoy playing twice a year and shooting under par just to annoy people

It's been years since I went, but I probably make these duffers look good. I usually keep score based on how many balls I find compared to how many I lose. (I can't keep score the normal way because I can't count that high.) I usually lose my balls good enough that I find several others while I'm looking for mine, which means I almost always leave with a positive score.

I know there are some really good golfers in the industry, though.

looks like enough dudes (sadly no girls yet??) for a society day! next question... anyone have recommended courses within 2 hrs drive of the NYC area? I know there's hundreds, particularly in Lond Island.. but I'm looking for the best public ones you've played that doesn't have marshals checking you've got a collar and sand bags! you know what I mean....

also, who'd be up for a game in this vicinity?

OK, I will chime in for the "girls" contingent.

Have clubs but haven't played in years. DH wants to ride and I want to walk. compromise = don't play. Now with a DD, no time.

I never keep score. Score card does not allow for that many digits!

Usually hit the ball and then move it because otherwise I will be there all week!

Play when I can. Back surgery sure slowed me down though.

I bugged my husband for two years to get me clubs (for B-day, Christmas, anything) so I could start playing golf. He finally did and now I am hooked. Love it and try to get out there whenever we can.

Former golfer of the year in my high school with a hole-in-one to my credit (I know I'm pretty humble huh?).

Don't get to play much anymore and don't know of any courses in the NYC area, but might want to check this site out:

Good luck, keep it in the short grass!
